Made in Ireland
Identity, Catalogue, Signage, Advert, Invitation
Brief
“Made in Ireland” was an open-call exhibition celebrating contemporary and traditional Irish craft, launching at the National Design & Craft Gallery in Kilkenny in 2021 before touring multiple regional venues over the following two years. Supported by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI), the project team commissioned Pixelpod to design a highly versatile corporate identity. The creative brief called for a logo system, a comprehensive exhibition catalogue, physical gallery signage, print advertisements, and digital e-invites. The Made in Ireland elements needed to be surprising, innovative, contemporary, and welcoming. Something that garners the attention of young as well as more traditional .
Solution
In November 2021, the landmark Made in Ireland exhibition officially opened to the public at the National Design & Craft Gallery. This exceptional showcase celebrated Irish craft across a diverse array of mediums, honouring the dedication, knowledge, and skill of makers working throughout Ireland. Pixelpod worked in close collaboration with the curatorial team—specifically Mary Gallagher of Blue Egg Gallery and Hilary Morley of Making.ie—to conceptualise and produce the core logo framework, editorial catalogue, and exhibition signage. The final brand assets and print materials were exceptionally well-received by the makers, the Made in Ireland team, and the Design & Crafts Council Ireland.
